Altar Server Recognition Mass
On September 19, 2026, Bishop Rey Bersabal celebrated Mass to recognize the altar servers in the Diocese of Sacramento who serve at their local parishes. More than 1100 altar servers and family members in the southern part of the diocese were invited to St. Joseph's Parish in Lincoln to attend a Mass with Bishop Rey where servers were recognized for their service to our Diocese. The altar servers were given a certificate of service of one, two, three, four, and more years. Each parish nominated an “altar server of the year” from their parish and they received a personnel recognition from Bishop Rey. We are proud to announce that Lilo was nominated Altar Server of the Year for St. Basil the Great!

Order of Christian Initiation of AdultsAre you interested in finding out more about the Catholic Faith?
New OCIA inquiry sessions will be starting in April 2026
These sessions are for Adults and Children, over the age of seven, who are interested in receiving Baptism, Holy Communion or Confirmation.

Adult ConfirmationInquiry submissions are now CLOSED for the next celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults. Successful candidates from St. Basil's will receive the Sacrament on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at St. Mary's Church, Vacaville at 5:00 PM.

We celebrate the abundant gifts you have given this nation, founded on the self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We make reparation for the offenses against you and against human dignity that have taken place in this nation. May our hearts be united to yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness; may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed. On June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops consecrated the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
